One of my favorite memories with Ashley stems from where Ashley and Sean met - Pool Mart.

Every year, I would always count on Ashley to do my hair and makeup for my dance recital, dress rehersal and class picture day. She always managed to make it completely perfect, every time.

One year, picture day fell on a day that Ashley had to work. I didn't want help from anyone else, so I gathered up her hair and makeup supplies and headed out to Pool Mart. In the middle of the store, during Ashley's shift mind you, she got me ready for my pictures. It was definitely a sight to see for the customers!

No matter what the circumstances are, I always know that I can count on Ashley to be there for me.

Throughout the past 4 years that Sean and Ashley have been dating, I’ve had the chance to make many memories with Ashley. From being gym buddies to our “DIY Cayuga Lake wine tour”, the memories are endless.

One of my favorite memories was back in April of 2017. Sean was home from the NYSP academy and started asking me about my work schedule for the coming week. I was a little suspicious as to why he wanted to know because he had never cared in the past. He then turned around with a beautiful diamond ring and said he was planning to propose to Ashley the next weekend and needed me to make sure Ashley had her nails done. I excitedly agreed and promised I wouldn’t say a word about it. A couple days later, I made plans with Ashley to get our nails done on my day off.

When we got to the nail salon, we tried to decide on what colors we wanted. Both of us were indecisive, but I suggested to Ashley she get a color she wouldn’t normally get. She picked out a Cinderella blue, which I thought would look perfect with the sparkly diamond ring Sean was going to propose with. Our nails turned out perfect and I excitedly and anxiously awaited for Sean's proposal.

Congratulations Sean and Ashley!

My favorite memory with Ashley is getting ready for my first dance. Only a couple months after she and Sean had started dating, she offered to curl my hair for my first real dance. Ashley curled my hair and helped with my makeup. We jammed out to throwback songs for a solid hour while I got ready. I still remember laughing until my stomach hurt and singing at the top of my lungs to Justin Bieber. Ashley helped me look beautiful and feel so confident for my dance.

Being best friends with Ashley for over 15 years, there are so many different memories I could talk about. Anything from our fast food dates to our soccer days to shopping to binge watching Gossip Girl to texting about ridiculous things and of course our endless amount of inside jokes. I have so many memories of Ashley doing all of the things a good best friend should, but there’s one funny memory that sticks out to me more than anything else.

One summer, about 7 years ago, we went to Kohl’s with the intention of shopping around. Instead, we ended up trying on these crazy outfits, one of which was an all camo jumpsuit. Despite any weird looks we got, we stayed there for the longest time taking pictures and finding new outfits. To add to our already weird day, we walked over to PetSmart and thought it would be a good idea to buy ourselves goldfish (which we named after boys we were crushing on). When my mom picked us up from the store, we were SUPER EXCITED to show her our fish. She wasn’t as thrilled. Ashley and I still talk about this day and I can picture us laughing about it 40 years from now.

One of my favorite memories with Sean is when we went to Olive Garden during the winter. When we left, we went to the empty parking lot next door and did donuts in the snow for five minutes straight. Sean had his Subaru Impreza spinning so fast he stalled it and couldn't get it started back up again. We've never laughed so hard.

One night, we were at Nick Charlaps getting some ice cream. On our way out to the car, Sean yanked Kara’s pants down right in the middle of the parking lot. It happened to be next to the road, so everyone driving by could see that her pants were down. She was screaming at him and was mad for a while afterwards. Everybody was dying laughing except for Kara.

I was up late one night watching TV when suddenly the peace and quiet of my house was interrupted. I looked over to see Ashley and Sean stumbling their way through the door after a night of partying at a friend’s wedding. To my surprise, it was Sean who was extremely drunk.

(Que drunk slurry voice) - Sean called out, "Where's Mr. Kelly? I want to give him a hug. Oh there he is! I love you Mr. Kelly!"

As Sean's sister Kara arrived to drive him home, he muttered, "We can all laugh about this tomorrow, right Mr. Kelly?” He left through the door singing the Bills Shout song as he had plans to begin tailgating in just a few short hours.

I followed him out the door, very interested in seeing if he was even capable of making it to the car. While in the driveway, he threw a bag of popcorn he was eating across the grass. I picked it up, only for him to yell back, "Give me that! That's my popcorn!" He then turned to me, grabbed me by my shirt and said in the same drunken voice, "Brendan, you're my brother. Nobody is going to f*ck with you!" I laughed at him and he yelled back, "It's not funny! I'm serious!" I guess he was right, he became my brother after all.

Whether it's his spot-on Retta impressions, his on-the-fly field sobriety testing at family parties, his total lack of sobriety at Bills games, or his love for all that is America and HGTV, it's obviously tough to pick just one favorite moment with Sean. One does come to mind, however, and it was not even in person. It was the random morning I answered the phone to a very excited, nervous Sean asking my blessing to propose to my oldest niece. He felt like a part of our family since the first night we met him, and I can't be more excited to be part of making it all official this coming July!
